    Hi Don…….in most posterior teeth I just drop into the lesions unless the child is really antsy. You know what most times I find its the water and the noise not pain that bothers the child.

    I dont spend the same time desensitizing unless I have a child who can benefit from the auditory desensitization and the aqua acclimatization………

    Hi Don
    I use desensitization on child and adult
    I begin on dentin setting on my hoya conbio during 45 seconds. After that I use enamel setting for an other 45 seconds at 1mm of the tooth.
    When nthe patient feel ok with the laser noise I begin to work on the tooth.If he fell pain I replace my laser on a lower setting for 30 seconds defocussed and after that I return to work into the cavity.I use the same technique to desensitize the tooth before amalgam removal.
