Nice view of the harbour.

ASISpectatorHi Bob,
That’s a good one. You are in fine form, Bob.
Don’t you have a similar backup sysytem for your PerioLase but with a foot pedal crank feature instead?!
Andrew
ASISpectatorHi Albert,
Welcome to the laser forum.
Good for you in your decision to get into laser dentistry.
I like the Delight for those same reasons and more.

Glenn van AsSpectatorCLAP CLAP CLAP………awesome stuff there Al.
Just back from Anaheim lecturing for a week and havent really had time to do much else yet, so I havent posted in a while.
Try some H2O2 for any tissue tags you get as there are times when it is rough with a little tissue here and there. I put it in an Ultradent brush that you would typically use for Astringident.
Really nice impression and no fear of bleeding or fear of nicking the cementum with the laser.
Well done and awesome pics.
Cya and take care

Elton YeungSpectatorWe are considering buying a Cerac 3D machine in our office. Justed wanted to get some feedback regarding the Cerac & the use of a Er/Yag laser in compliment with this. Thanks.
Kenneth LukSpectatorHi Albert,
Just like you, the decision is Waterlase or DElight.
After talking to a lot of users, I think I’ll go for the DElight too.Ken
Kenneth LukSpectatorHi Bob,
Thanks for your comprehensive reply!Ken
AlbodmdSpectatorAndrew,
Great pic! My Delight didn’t come with the Laser Girls, you got a great deal. My wife probably wouldn’t have let me buy it with that combo anyways. I’m looking forward to learning from everyone here. Are the Laser Girls at all the training meetings? 😉Ken,
I’m very comfortable with my decision. One guy who would be good to talk to is Dr. William Greider. He used to speak for Waterlase and he has experience with the Waterlase, the Delight, and Opus’s laser. Very nice guy. Try to test them side by side if you can.
Best of luck.

2thlaserSpectatorHi Guys,
Most of the time you can’t tell a bad tip right out of the box. I have had very few bad tips, I mean, VERY FEW. Every once in awhile, there is a batch of bad ones…I think that Biolase is trying to see if different manufacturers can keep up with their demand, pure speculation on my part, and then we get a bad batch.
They are VERY good at taking care of this problem, it just doesn’t do any good to get mad, just tell them the problem, and they will handle it. I had a bunch of tips delivered just last week, the box from FedEx was litterally CRUSHED, so far, no bad tips from it, we will see.
Sorry Ron. Just call Ioana, let her know what happened.

SwpmnSpectatorCongratulations, Albert!!!
You’ll have a lot of fun and provide a wonderful service to your patients!!!

Kenneth LukSpectatorThanks Albert!
I’ll have a trial with the Waterlase for a week.
Then attend the Conbio course in Sept.
My mind has probably set on DElight already.
Ken
Kenneth LukSpectatorHi Vince,
Minimal discomfort on troughing. That’s when no LA was used on cr perp on root canal treated teeth.
2w cw with irrigation 2cm away from aphthous ulcer. Change to pulse or lower setting if patient feels discomfort. I’ve not had any problems with this setting though. Pain free in less than 1 min.

PatricioSpectatorHi All,
I was thinking today what a great opportuntiy to have a fearful patient. I worked with a fearful 17 year old today and learned a great deal about how and when to adjust settings and mix it up for comfort. Everytime I did it my way I would get these little noises from the young lady. Not to be beaten I adjusted the settings from high to low mixed in one of those fine spoons and a little 1/2 round bur sort of like mixing it up in a boxing match. I won. It was fun and in the end she admitted to feeling very little. After 18 months I can still say that each day I gain a little more confidence and certainty as to what will happen at a given setting or beam position.
I removed an immovable tooth via forceps, #11 fractured to the gumline in a 76 year old man by removing buccal and lingual bone via the laser with ease and virtually no bleeding so good visibility as I went.
I can now use the laser on virtually all crown preps for troughing with very little problem and within the last week I completed two crown lenghtenings(closed) again with confidence and an experienced certainty about the out come.
Somethings are still hard. I think of access in some areas especially when trying to accomodate the assistant with her straw and the spray on my mirror.
I can no longer see anything adaquately without my Ziess head light and magnification. I may have to get another one for my other op after my trip to the top of the mountain in Cerritos next month. I am wondering if some of you are moving your multiple lasers from room to room with a small fork lift or do you have a dumb waiter in the wall of your favorite operatory?
Pat
vinceSpectatorHi Pat,
