I think it may be prudent for us to share what bonding technique/ material we r using? we removing decay or not? I use cabrio for my bonding agent and use matrix hybrid for my first layer in a deep prep and simile(jeneric pentron) over the top.. For shallow preps i use renamel flowable (very very polishable…I dont use GI at all and I total etch…ok everyone chime in

Great question……….I am using a flowable ( a variety of them) in the base and then Tetric Ceram overtop.

I would like to start using more GI in the base to protect against recurrent decay.

Fuji is the one I hear people using.

    Gotta fly of too work

My technique which is approaching one year:

    1) Erbium laser for caries excavation. No slow speed round burs are used for carious lesions that can be safely treated with laser(i.e., no adjacent metal margins). Bevel placed with Erbium on margins of restoration.

    2) Clearfil SE(Kurraray) self-etching primer applied to enamel and dentin in two coats with agitation for 30 seconds. Evaporate solvent, apply adhesive and light cure.

    3) Flowable composite De-Mark(Cosmedent) or Perma-Flow(Ultradent) applied to gingival floor and out to margin against matrix band on Class II’s.

    4) Incremental placement against facial/lingual walls or matrix band with 3M Z-100 or Ultradent Vitalescence posterior composites. Two mm increments cured for only 10 seconds with commonly used halogen curing lamp.

GI base on deeper preps (the Fuji Liner is very user friendly)
    SE Bond
    De-Mark Flowable in boxes

If enamel prepped w/ AA or Erbium:
prep only in enamel (sealants or extended grooves arond restoration)
I-Bond (Kulzer) leave on for 30 seconds, then blow off, no light cure until after FiltekFlow composite, vibrate into grooves, then light cure
    Prep into dentin:
    No bases or liners,
    I-Bond 3 coats, 30 secs, light cure
1st increment in proxy box FiltekFlow(3M) also use in deep prepped areas
Condensable composite as dentin replacement, P-60(3M), light cure
Increments of Z100 or Z250 (3M) for enamel replacement, light cure each increment
    I-Bond is one bottle,self etching, bondng,contains Gluma.
This is where my Microdentistry has evolved.
    No GI since 1995.
