    Hi all,
    Read an ad by Ultradent on their latest product: DetecTAR.
    A device to detect presence of subgingival calculus. An adjunct to Laser currettage ( checking SRP before decontamination ) ?
    Anyone tried it out? Does it work?

    Hi Ken

    I’m evaluating now.

    Works similar to Diagnodent in picking up bacteria fluorescence using a red diode laser to illuminate. The problem so far is that the tip must be at 30 degrees to the calculus in order to “detect” it.

    Please keep me updated on your verdict.
    More economical than a perioscope if it’s effective.
