    Hi Fellow Forum Folks:

Here’s a case of a lower second premolar crown prep assisted with the erbium to decontaminate the pulpal floor followed by closed osseous reduction on the distal aspect due to biologic width infringement. As posted by others before, I find this to be one of the strongest features of the erbium to render a difficult situation easy to handle.

    Hi Paul & Marc Andre,

    Thanks for the remarks.

I did use the 980nm diode during the prep of the distal margin. It was used as part of the whole treatment seamlessly with the erbium, microdentistry spoons, hi/lo speed handpieces, air abrasion…. I still use retraction cords like in this case as needed since I like to have ample sulcular space for the impression material to capture the margin.

Paul, the setting for the pulpal floor was 25Hz 60mJ wet and for the osseous was 30Hz 95mJ wet.

    Andrew
