I received a cold call from NLT today. They said they will be in my area Fri and wanted to know if I would like my WL(not MD) tuned up for 񘐗. They also offer annual service contract for 񘟿, new fiber 񘐗 MD software upgrade 邃.
When I was covered wit Biolase service contract they never, not once, told me to have it “tuned up” whatever that means. Do WL owners routinely get tune ups. What about the MD software upgrade? anyone know about this. I thought the handpiece also accounted for the improvement over the WL.
I will call them in the a.m. to get more details. Just curious what others are doing or have done.

To continue about National Laser Tech:
I had a real nice guy named Kevin in my office to do the “tune-up” on the laser. Kevin is a former Biolase employee, and my sense is that there are other like him at NLT.
He explained the process, why it needs to be done, and showed me everything. He spent 1.5-2 hours in the office. Filters were inspected & changed, fibers inspected and polished, mirrors inspected and polished, machine calibrated, and much more. The best was the fan noise reduction kit. All WL owners know how loud the machine is, in fact when it is turned off it is somewhat of a relief to the ears. NLT has this fan noise reduction kit for about 400 bucks that reduces noise by approx 80%. IF the noise bothers you , this would be worth the call.
They are also coming out with a software MD upgrade ,for approx 躔 , which will allow WL users to vary frequency and pulse duration.
I talked about replacement fibers. They sell refurbished fibers for ~躔. They claim there is no need to spend 񘕈 on a new fiber. Many fibers we get are already refurbished, they claim.

AnonymousGuest(JanetCentury @ Aug. 31 2006,12:01)QUOTEDo they work with the DeLight as well?
They do. they have worked on both my waterlase (routine service and the hz adjustable upgrade) and my versawave, although the versawave really doesn't need much attention.September 3, 2007 at 1:49 pm #9275
Thanks ron. i have a delight upgraded to a versawave and it's fine now. just like to have options available.
