    Hi Everyone,

I want to extend a WARM welcome (cuz he’s getting the snow storm of two centuries right now in Arnold, Maryland) to Jeff Cranska–aka “Benchwmer”.

Far from being a lurker, Jeff is an active FR Nd:YAG user who has posted several excellent case presentations on Dental Town.  In fact, he has a soft tissue crown lengthening case that is posted on the front page of both the on-line and hard cover Dental Town magazine in the February 2003 issue.

I think we can expect to enjoy his case presentation postings here as well.  I for one, look forward to some company in this “Nd:YAG” world of mine. :cheesy:

Jeff is a very smart clinician who has applied the basic principles of laser physics and laser tissue interaction to new, innovative and otherwise unheard of applications.

For example, Jeff developed a technique using the FR Nd:YAG to fill-in/close a Black triangle on an anterior tooth.  WOW!  He showed me how to do it, and it was easier than I thought.  (Having the right laser wavelength and configuration helped 😉 ) I hope he posts that case here and many more!

Jeff will also be attending the Academy of Laser Dentistry (ALD) meeting this year in Destin, Florida, March 6,7,8.  So Bryan Pope, if you need another reason to come, there it is.

    Welcome aboard Jeff!

    Bob

    Bob and Jeff:

Welcome to Ron’s Forum Dr. Cranksa!!!!! I enjoyed your article in February 2003 Dental Town. The great thing about this forum is the professionalism and the manner in which colleagues treat one another.

I would like to pose a question and in no way am I trying to be a smartass or critical. In the Dental Town hard copy article, is it possible that Photos 3 and 4 were transposed?

The reason I ask is because in your description of Photo 4 you Note: no shrinkage or recession of gingiva. I think the publisher just transposed the photos.

Thanks for your help and welcome!!!!!

Welcome to Harold Perlaza who just signed on, and who is a new PerioLase MVP-7 user.

Harold is a faculty lecturer at UCLA and has all the periodontists in the perio department all VERY excited about his use of the pulsed Nd:YAG for laser periodontal therapy.

For those who don’t know–that’s where all the “excitment” about lasers in perio began in recent history that got Drs. Drury and Dederich so active the last few years opposing the Fr Nd:YAG for LPT–writing articles, lecturing, giving presentations at the AAP.

    Welcome, Harold!

    Well, Well, WELCOME,

To Dr. Martha Cortes who signed in recently.

Martha is a long time laser user (1992?).  She started out with a dual FRP Holmium (Ho) and Neodymium (Nd) YAG laser from Excel Quantronics (now out of the dental market).

Martha has a practice that is heavily involved with biostimulation using a variety of “soft” lasers, cosmetics, and Laser Perio Therapy.

She is past President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), and was one of it founding members.  She is friends with most or all of the cosmetic “luminaries”.  So she can give us all some insights in this regard as well.

Martha is a true international lecturer, recently giving a lecture in Mexico presenting in Spanish.  And later this year, she will be going to France and giving a presentation in French as well.

Talented and bright, with a Pre-doctorate degree in Biochemistry or Microbiology (help me here Martha), she is an avid laser user.

Martha has followed the work Del and I have been conducting for many years and was one of the first to be trained in Laser ENAP back when we called it that (1998).

In 2002 Martha became a PerioLase MVP-7 owner and in 2003 became an Instructor for MDT in New York City, where she is one of only a few who teaches MDT’s 3 day Bootcamp out of California.  (Hey, we need help if we’re gonna grow!)

Del and I have been great friends with Martha and her Physician (plastic surgeon) husband David.  Martha is a wonderful “soul” that comes through when you are with her.

She will be giving presentations at the MDT User’s Group Meeting on February 13-14th, AND at the upcoming ALD meeting in Palm Springs.  She promises to give it in English……

Warm, open, and humble she will want to meet you, and help you in any way she can.  So, introduce yourselves when you get the chance.

Well I just noticed Bill Strupp signed on. This should be interesting.
I wonder if he is starting to look at getting a laser?

Welcome Bill! Being able to tap your vast resources in perio/restorative dentistry could be of great interest. Its alot more friendly over here then DT. Play nice!
Oh and Danny is developing a sense of humor!!! smile.gif

I noticed that Dr. Steven Parker from the UK and current President of the ALD signed on.

I’d like to welcome Steven and hope he will contribute to the conversations relative to the ALD.

Hello!! I’m Shane from San Diego, California and I’m 28 years of age. I’m a person who can easily mingle with other people even with different personalities.

I love challenges coz it makes me eager to learn things. I like surfing the net during my past time and I love playing basketball with my friends especially when I get bored.
