Actually, tissue looks extremely healthy and much improved cosmetics over original length!
    Thanks,

    Glenn,

    Careful with that attached gingiva.

Didn’t I see you post that awesome exposure case where you apically positioned the tissue? Long term healing was perfect.

I know you measure AG before you excise tissue, I just wanted to point out that everyone needs to be aware.

Alright the photos are in and I can sleep again…..sheesh!

Just kidding, now hopefully there will be some discussion over this case. I know that Osseous recontouring continues to be a huge area of debate.

This was only soft tissue not bone.

Hi Andy, you are right on and I mentioned that I probed before hand and saw 4mm of attached present.

In addition in the last photo look how thin but how present the attached is from the blanching when I pulled the vestibule up. This is the amazing part of the microscope, is that you can see where the attached is.

Great point Andy, but from a perspective of which procedure I will do, I will do this when the amount of tissue removal needed is small, time is running out in ortho and I just want to get a bracket on a tooth. Usually there is plenty of attached tissue but for gosh sakes probe and be aware as you so rightly pointed out.

THanks again Andy, and the link to the other case that I did the flap on is here. It has a neat case by Jeff, and one a little differently handled by myself. Both have merits given the right amount of AG.

Anyone have a close up picture of an Opus Duo control panel?
I am trying to show all the different lasers and thought I had this one covered. Even tried to lift the picture off thier website but the resolution is pretty low.

    Thanks David

I noticed that the Opus has a Pulse duration 250-400 µsec for the Er side of the Duo.
Is that a range or can you switch between 250 and 400 us ? If so when would you use 250us vs 400us ?

If you are going to be at the ALD I owe you a drink. Don’t be alarmed if I am wearing someone elses name tag. I haven’t fiqured out what to do about the pratical part of the exam at the ALD. I can just quess who the two instructors are going to be!!!!!! One of these days I’ll learn.

    Hi Glenn,

    Nice before and afters!

This does look like a good candidate for osseous judging from your preop probings. Why only soft tissue?

Hi Andy, when I measured the probings were 3-4 mm on the facial and I wanted around 1.5mm. I felt I didnt need any extra with the osseous.

    Do you feel different?

Thanks alot for the kind words.

    Glenn
