    Hi Vince,
I sent you an e-mail earlier, did you receive it?
How does your DElight and 980 compliment each other?
I can’t wait to get my hard tissue laser.

Welcome to Harold Perlaza who just signed on, and who is a new PerioLase MVP-7 user.

Harold is a faculty lecturer at UCLA and has all the periodontists in the perio department all VERY excited about his use of the pulsed Nd:YAG for laser periodontal therapy.

For those who don’t know–that’s where all the “excitment” about lasers in perio began in recent history that got Drs. Drury and Dederich so active the last few years opposing the Fr Nd:YAG for LPT–writing articles, lecturing, giving presentations at the AAP.

    Welcome, Harold!

….after my trip to the top of the mountain in Cerritos next month.  I am wondering if some of you are moving your multiple lasers from room to room with a small fork lift or do you have a dumb waiter in the wall of your favorite operatory?

    Hi Albert,

    Thanks for the comments.

I like your website. Who are you working with on the development and support of the site?

    Andrew,
Actually I made my website myself. Took a long time and lots of learning of Frontpage software. It’s constantly a work in progress and I’m always playing with it. I’m going to have to work on it now to add some laser stuff. Anyone know where I can find some cool dental laser graphics?
    Regards,

    Pat ,
You gotta watch those guys in Cerritos  ;).

They get you in boot kamp and the next thing you know you’re treating perio and doing extractions and laser clotting on patients taking blood thinners (which was a good part of my day, not to mention the crown troughing).

Time for a ski ride, catch you all later,

Pat, I can tell you as a newbie, it has been great reading through your old posts. It has helped decrease my learning curve and inspired me to keep on pushing. I don’t know about this DELight thing you are talking about. I do know I may need to have the wheels balanced and rotated on my Watrelase. It get pulled around the office all day long.
Al, You really bought the DElight? Think I could come down and check it out?

Jeff, I am just getting around to checking out this thread. Nice case. You mentioned the Opus has a foot pedal for firing that can be set on variable. This sounds great. I love my Waterlase but !!! I am in a learning phase that I am constantly changing settings. What a pain. You constantly have to be looking up from your field of vision and doing Class 2/3 movements.
Glenn, I to liked the slowspeed for that last check for caries. That was until Marks spoons. I rarely pickup the slowspeed anymore. I just need to buy some more.

    Hi Elton

I have cerec 3(the 3D update will be installed soon ) for 2 years and have had the waterlase for 2 weeks,
I have not yet integrated them together, but patients are very impresed by all this high tech.
I am looking forward to lasing a cerec prep.
    Good luck

Hi David, it depends on the extent of decay I guess. Small ones can use Marks spoons , bigger ones I use the slowspeed.

If you want to avoid changing settings remember you can defocus to lower the impact on the tooth at the same setting and this will also prevent the Class 2/3 movements.

    Take care

Check it out David……many of the Waterlase users have and have noticed unique things about it including the handpiece, less noise, easier to work in the upper arch with the waterspray, and less tension on the fiber.

THe machine isnt as sexy as the Waterlase in looks but it is a hearty stable unit.

Its always good to have seen different units and try them out just to see what benefits and disadvantages are with each.

    Take care……

    Glenn
